I don't think all of this is caused by GPL license.
According to sourceforge MyBB isn't opensource. Nor is my software.
We have to allow our users to be able to sell the product as-well.

The GPL license enables them to fork the code. If MyBB was to be bought by another company and to remain with the same closed source license, then we can't fork the code out.

Now i see what all the griping was about with the license.
Yeah some people don't realize how liberal GNU/GPL really is. You can easily fork a project and even turn that into a commercial work. That's exactly what Red Hat has done.

Correct. But since selling the product is prohibited, sourceforge doesn't take the software as opensource

Basically has it's pro's and con's. If i remember correctly this is sorta what happend at IPB years ago. Talking way before they went paid back when IPB started..

An EULA is like a license. GPL is a type of license.
