Yeah I have this problem with my support forum. I build it on localhost and then, for some reason, when I moved it to a server environment it wouldn't let me do certain things. I can access the ACP, but I can't go into anything specific - such as editing a user - I get a 404 error.

I haven't yet found a solution, but my plan is to simply export the template I made for it, install a new board, and make the modifications to it that I made offline.
When you get the error 404, what is the URL your browser is trying to access?
URLs such as forum/admin/index.php?module=config/settings&action=change&gid=9, however I can access up to forum/admin/index.php?module=config.

I'm going to take a better look at it tomorrow - but there's nothing (htaccess etc.) that can effect it. The files are there, the settings are there - it's wierd because it works offline and I haven't touched any part of it (except the database information)...
yes iam having the same problem Sad
Need more info. What links are you clicking, what the URLs are, etc. Sorry can't read your mind.

I am having the same problems. I can login to the admin panel just fine..however.. any link I click on I get kicked out ... it still shows the url in the address bar but it shows the forum main page.

I have WP installed in a main directory with permalinks enabled and the forum installed in /forum but I'm accessing it via a subdomain. It doesn't work w/o the subdomain either.
Are you sure it's not a 403 error? This fella is having the same problem and so am I.

The original poster. I'm sorry, I should have quoted him.
