I don't think it'll be quite as simple as that though... what you might have to do is upload the changed files from each update by looking in the announcements threads. So go 1.2.9 > 1.2.10 > 1.2.11 > 1.2.12 > 1.2.13 > 1.2.14. Because there's more file changes there than just 1.2.9 > 1.2.14. But I'd await confirmation on that as something seems wrong about that process really, seems too long

Downloading the 1.2.14 package from the page that Matt pointed you to should do the trick. Since it is the entire 1.2.14, and not just the changed files.

But, I am not sure if the 1.2.14 .zip was updated to contain the security fixes after 1.4 was released, so it would be worth (after upgrading to 1.2.14 on your test board) to see if you need these fixes also:

Ah yes... well, when you do decide to upgrade, make sure you have a full database backup and also backup your files incase anything goes wrong. Then you can just revert back if needed. As I said before, I'll upgrade for you if you're unsure

I have decide to not worry about medals and such.
I will just take the time to hand them all out again 1 by 1 again.

I would like to just do a new install with the latest mybb and use my existing db with it.

Will this work? ..you are going to tell me i can not do it that way.. aren't you ..LOL my db will not be compatible with it i bet.

1. Well yes, you can't run 1.4 on 1.2 files can you??

Make a full database and file backup, remove all your files apart from ./inc/config.php and ./inc/settings.php, upload all the new ones (except those 2 files), go to ./install/upgrade.php, and choose your old version from the list.
