Hi There,

I know this might sound strange but my forum will not display anymore! Out of nowhere it just decided not to show, all i see is a blank index page. I have not installed any plugins or changed it in any way! Just one day I went to visit it to see what was happening *as you do* and i am presented with a blank index page outa nowhere!

I instantly thought ok maybe my files were missing on the server, nope! All are still there intact - nothing seems to be out of the ordinary! So its quite bizarre, any ideas?

I have read other threads regarding this mysterious blank page happening, but all of the other problems seems to be caused by some sort of editing error or plugin or an update, but I'm really at a loss as to why this has happened as I've done nothing with it since i installed - Of course i made threads etc, but all was working fine for months! The only thing i can think of is that it has timed out over lack of use perhaps? Is that a possibility? Blush

Regards,
Mossiette
It wouldn't have 'timed' out from lack of use - can you login to the Admin CP? If you can, take a look at the Administrator Logs to see if anything was changed recently...
Make sure your index template has some code in it; a common issue people have is when people's browsers can't load the codepress used in templates, the text area is greyed out, and saving the template when it's like that will erase the template code, leading to a blank page.
Hi Tomm,

Thanks for ur quick reply, eh..how do I log into the Admin CP I never bothered to remember the link because I always logged in via the forum :s
Normally myforum.dot/admin/... Smile

Hi Matt,

I installed the forum perfectly fine, never had any problems, created all my threads and never had any errors - its just really bizarre that one day it disappears!

The index template isnt empty no! I know its easier to see the problem but id rather not give out my url because I do not want to be cached on google using this s/n and my business site :s i hope thats ok, im not trying to be difficult Blush

this is however what is on my index template:

<html>
<head>
<title>{$mybb->settings['bbname']}</title>
{$headerinclude}
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
	lang.no_new_posts = "{$lang->no_new_posts}";
	lang.click_mark_read = "{$lang->click_mark_read}";
// -->
</script>
</head>
<body>
{$header}
{$forums}
{$boardstats}

<dl class="forum_legend smalltext">
	<dt><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/on.gif" alt="{$lang->new_posts}" title="{$lang->new_posts}" style="vertical-align: middle; padding-bottom: 4px;" /></dt>
	<dd>{$lang->new_posts}</dd>

	<dt><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/off.gif" alt="{$lang->no_new_posts}" title="{$lang->no_new_posts}" style="vertical-align: middle; padding-bottom: 4px;" /></dt>
	<dd>{$lang->no_new_posts}</dd>

	<dt><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/offlock.gif" alt="{$lang->forum_locked}" title="{$lang->forum_locked}" style="vertical-align: middle;" /></dt>
	<dd>{$lang->forum_locked}</dd>
</dl>
<br style="clear: both" />
{$footer}
</body>
</html>

Ahh, now we're onto something... in the server and optimization settings, if you have 'Use GZip Page Compression?' set to Yes, turn it off; that's been known to show before.
