My Opinion:
Okay, so let me explain why I'm posting this first. The poster of that "article" is my good friend, Ian(Chemich is his DJ name). Now, before all of you jump on the bandwagon and say "Oh, of course you're going to defend him - he's you're friend"; hear me out.. I agree with him about telling a user to delete a .dll file is somewhat of a bannable offense - but why? If a user doesn't know what a file is, they should do research, figure out what it is, what it does, etc. Now, about his ban...

Honestly, I agree with him that you should be able to put whatever you like in your signature; why not, right? It's yours. Now granted, I can understand rules on signatures such as "no pornographical images, links, etc." - but to just make up a rule and add 3 days to a user's ban just because their previously banned is just stupid.(before you chew me out, read on) Is discussing a ban in your signature really wrong? I mean..really? Is it? I don't see how it is. If any of you think it's wrong, please explain to me how. Now, I can see if they say something like "Oh, this site #*)#^*$ sucks because I got banned by some &@&#(#& #@^#@^$!"; and no, I won't say what the random symbols mean. But honestly, anyone who thinks the ban was fine and in order - please explain it to me!

Has anyone had to deal with power-hungry moderators like this before? If so, support him(Ian/Chemich)! Make your "voice"/opinion heard! People seriously need to know about this. I don't know about all of you, but I'm sick of moderators or staff of any kind that just go out and ban people because they can, or add to the ban because of a user's content(in any way; signature, avatar, posts, etc.) - please tell me I'm not alone here?
Interesting although would any ever recommend deleting system32?
I agree Tom. Power goes a long way, sometimes down the wrong path.

I'm not sure, honestly.

Yeah, it's definitely stupid though - because this isn't the first time I've seen Newgrounds staff(in general) abusing their powers(in any way).

It's not specifically about that.

The reason I did that was because some emo kid was asking for PC help and going down everyone's throats for no apparent reason at all. Personally I do accept the consequences that came with suggesting, and I hope the brat actually did it so he learns his lesson.

But it's about the consequences that came with posting a ban in a signature, which makes no sense.

I feel I deserve to at least have enough freedom of speech to show some opinion in my signature.

They let us advertise, what's the difference with discussing a ban?

If I owned a site I'd just laugh at it, rather than raging over the internet and becoming all offended by it like it's affecting his image.

Truth is Newgrounds isn't actually "Everything by Everyone," it's an internet version of America. Sure it has all these flashy features, but we're still censored, and we're given these shitty rules that make no sense whatsoever (not referring to the bill of rights or constitution more like some state laws which are unreasonable.)

Simply, I feel I've been unfairly banned, and I am indeed going to contact the Administrators about it.

Even though it won't do anything, the ego behind the administrators are quite large and they quite frankly do not care what happens period.

This is simply my perspective.

Also it is not a written rule, so how would have I known?

I've looked everywhere for the rule "no discussing bans in your signature," nowhere to be found.

So who's right and who's wrong here?
A) Welcome to the community, dude.
B) I completely agree it's not a rule. I've seen the rules page many times before and it's not there.
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/rules - Not in the rules.

I've been bullshitted.

Time to take this up with the top dogs Wade & Tom.
So you told some kid to delete his /system32 folder and ended up being banned?

Well I would say move on, don't bother wasting your time going back explaining yourself.

What was you expecting them to do, promote you to a mod/admin...
It is blatantly obvious you did in fact not read this thread at all.

It's not that he banned me for the System 32, I was fine with that.

It's because he gave me an extra three days for talking about the ban in my signature.

Lunty, some advice, before you post please read the entire thread.

It makes it easier for everyone

Thanks

Exactly, your answer is right here, you just don't realise it..

It's because he gave me an extra three days for talking about the ban in my signature.

Here is another example where I've seen this happen, In most game server's people get muted for causing trouble ingame by the server admin then the muted player will bypass the mute by changing there name to %^&* you admin or some other way to give abuse or there comment.

So that is what the admin think's your doing bypassing the ban trying to explain yourself but atleast in a goodway but if you can't see that.
