For the longest time I never ran any anti-virus software and I haven't been infected since high school. The anti-virus software you use does not determine whether or not you will get a virus. Smart computing is more effective than any virus scan out there and 99.9% of the time a person gets infected is because they were not using common sense or didn't have the knowledge to prevent it. The only reason I run a virus scan now is because my clients are very virus-prone and since I save my backups on my local fileserver I have to be able to scan them as needed.

So to recap, the best virus scan in the world will only tell you 2 things:
1) You're infected.
2) You can't substitute knowledge with software.
lol, nice summary KuJoe. I've not been infected in several years myself.
Though I almost got infected because someone I trust gave me a USB flash stick and it was infected (they didn't know). Thankfully most virii can't infect Linux and thats where I opened it at. And I had my Clam up and running, so it was detected shortly after inserting the key.

It was a very evil little bas**** too. It would be initiated by the USB key's autorun, which would then attempt to install it in about 10 different locations. Weeee.

From the ClamWin site:
Quote:Please note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware.

However, it does have integrated scanning with many programs, especially email programs and browsers. I love it, and since it has a scan scheduler I just schedule for 3:30am every day and voila. Smile

Screw that Norton crap.

All this said however, I did vote for Buy Kaspersky Wink
3 license version was only $60 last time I looked.
Of course, I would have voted for clam/clamwin but you didn't have on list Big Grin
For Corp. edition? Amazing!

And yes, but he has a corp edition, and it is actually very nice.

I used to use Comodo Internet Security, but stopped using it when I updated to the 7 public testing.

I have an un crypted trojan on my machine dormat, i downloaded to help a friend get rid of. And MSE can't seem to find it xD.

And i know, i haven't gotten a real virus for years. Even more so since i am a clean user, i don't torrent anything illegal. Period.
