LGPL: It was designed as a compromise...
The main difference between the GPL and the LGPL is that the latter can be linked to (in the case of a library, 'used by') a non-(L)GPLed program, regardless of whether it is free software or proprietary software.
  • Open-source purists can remain as "pure" as they want to.
  • Cooperation for mutual benefit will remain alive and well. Heart

  • Businesses and competitive people can compete for profits as the use of MyBB grows.

This is a wise move for MyBB and a great time to be alive! Smile

I know what GPL stands for, but what does LGPL stand for? Lighter General Public License? :p

Lesser General Public License the old one was Library General Public License.
