i want to know how i can lock some categories of my forum so that guests can not browse these forums & they have to register to browse these sections
In your ACP go to Forums & Posts -> Edit the forum -> and edit the permission for guests on the bottom.
in this way it becomes invisible..
how can i make it lock keeping it viewable to guests but they can't enter in forum
ACP Forums & Posts > Forum Management area, set the permissions for the subforums to not allow viewing for the groups you want to limit.

You will need a plugin, try looking in the mod database. I know there is one that exists.
AdminCp>configuration>setting>Forum Home Options>hide private forums>off

Edit the forum's individual settings and uncheck 'Forum is Open'.
No plugins are necessary :p
