I have 1.4 installed and have merged my phpBB 3 forum into it. Most members are fine and login and stay logged in with no trouble at all. The cookie settings are correct.

Two members so far were unable to login. When you enter their username and password it just takes you right back to the login screen and gives no error message. I tried changing their passwords and still it wouldn't login. So I changed their username and e-mail and registered a new account with their regular username and e-mail and merged the broken account into it. That works and they are then able to login. But after a short time the account stops working again and I have to do it all over again.

Any ideas on what the problem is and how to correct it?
Is this your URL?? http://www.allbordercollies.com/forums/

If it is your cookie settings aren't quite right. The cookie domain is .www.allbordercollies.com which mean it'll only work if people access the site with www. in the domain. I.e. http://www.allbordercollies.com/forums/ will be fine but http://allbordercollies.com/forums/ won't. Change the cookie domain to .allbordercollies.com and ask them to clear their browser cookies, should be fine.

Thank you. I went and changed it to .allbordercollies.com and we'll see if the problem pops up again. But when I tested their accounts I couldn't login either and I access the forums at http://www.allbordercollies.com/forums/
I managed to login with no problems when you had it at ./forum

Now you've moved it to ./forums I can't login. With or without the www :s

I just created a test account and I can log into that no problem.

That must be a cookie issue since the path is now /forums/ and yours is still /forum/ I know it sucks having to reset cookies but I bet that would work for you. And since I changed the cookie domain to .allbordercollies.com now I think everyone who had logged in before will have to delete their cookies to login now. Undecided if it fixes the problem with some members not being able to login it's worth it though.

Clearing cookies has made no difference for me.

I just created a test account and I can log into that no problem.
Hmm... well back to the drawing board then. I wonder what the problem is.
Change my password and see if you can log into my account your end?

Nope, can't login on my end either. Yours is the same problem the other two had. I did what I did for the others and made you a new one and merged the old in so you should be able to login now. Please let me know if it stops working again. I am e-mailing you the password.
Have you got any plugins installed yet?
