Today i added new smilies to the forum and when i go to preview the post only the smilie code shows up and not the image.

The second problem is the reply box when i click on the new reply button it looks like this

How can i make the box a little bigger?(forum version is 1.6, theme is darkfusion)
Got the same issue, I changed the percentages of the size in the theme, that made however not only the frame but the textbox bigger, so it still overlays a little.
Ok but what about the smilies?
To fix the textarea use this : http://community.mybb.com/thread-75337.h...t=textarea

In that link above you will be asked to open the editor.js file , that file is located in the "jscripts" folder in your forum root.

As far as as i know theres an issue when adding custom smilies to version 1.6

I can't replicate on my 1.6 install.

Can you provide a test account?
Sure made it:
user: testmember
pass: testuser
It's because MyBB does not have a WYSIWYG editor.
Also, change your text editor to Office 2007 type.

@gaara
how to change my text editor to Office 2007 type?

and how does the default smilies work then?
It's because you're using a URL to an external site, can you not just upload them to ./images/smilies/ ?

It's nothing to do with MyBB not having a WYSIWYG editor.
