remained white on the page when you upgrade

What stage of the upgrade does this happen at?? Try running it again, it might not have rebuilt config.php properly.

Was when you upgrade from 1.6 or 1.4

Delete your ./inc/config.php and remake it with this: [wiki]Inc/config.php[/wiki]

You do not have permissions to run this process. You need administrator permissions to be able to run the upgrade procedure.

If you need to logout, please click here. From there you will be able to log in again under your administrator account. 

Are you logged in with your admin account...?? It doesn't check if you're a super admin here...

What does it say your usergroup is in phpMyAdmin?? You must have done something before running upgrade script if this is happening, the upgrade script doesn't change your usergroup or remove your ACP access.

the correct user group. upgrade process did not start

Look in the usergroups table, is cancp 1 for the admin usergroup??
