Hello,

I am trying to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.6.1: I have followed the upgrade process, copied the new files, deleted the lock, checked the CHMOD of files and folders, but when I go to the upgrade page (mysite.com/forumfolder/install/upgrade.php) I am asked to login (Upgrade Process - LOGIN PLEASE), like entering ACP, my admin password/login is accepted, but nothing happens, the upgrade page is reloading each time, and asking login again.

I am sure that the login/password are right. If I type a wrong login or password, I get a password/login error message.

Now, I cannot access the forum (upgrade is not completed) and I cannot go on with the upgrade process. Could someone help please? Why the login step doesn't work?

Thank you for any help.

PS: I've checked the thread about problem with login & cookies: I did not change any setting in setting.php, and, according to this thread, the settings are correct. Cookie are allowed (I am using FF3, latest version, and IE 8). Clearing cookies does not help.
Forum URL ?

The forum URL is: http://mwrenaissance.info/
The upgrade URL is: http://www.cushanghai.net/mwrenaissance/...pgrade.php
(cushanghai.net is the true domain).

I have upgraded many time from 1.2, to all 1.4.x and 1.6 without problem.
I'm getting PHP errors.
Yes, that's strange, I had no error message till now... it changed, I did not touch anything, I don't know why.

Quote:Warning: require_once(/home1/cushangh/public_html/mwrenaissance/inc/db_.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home1/cushangh/public_html/mwrenaissance/install/upgrade.php on line 75

What should I do?
are you sure that it overwrite the original files, if not reupload.
Sorry I am not sure to understand the question.

I have uploaded all the files of the 1.6.1, yes, and even re-uploaded again since it was not working.

- I mean are u sure it overwritten the old files for example like the admin folder replaces the old setting with the new setting. or did you just upload the upgrade folder into the directory.
I have uploaded and overwritten all the files (the complete Mybb 1.6.1 archive).

Is there a problem with the database? Should I try to restore it? How?

==================

Ok, I have restored config.php and settings.php from a local save, and now I do not have any php error when trying to launch the install. But the problem is the same as described in the first post: I cannot login to begin the installation/upgrade.

Anyone ? Sad

The problem is that your actual forum url and the url you are using to upgrade are different, hence you can't stay logged in. Can't you use the same url as the forum to upgrade? If not then you'll have to change the cookie settings to the upgrade url in order to finish the upgrade
