I don't really see a problem with #666.
Me neither, but the association with Satan and whatnot always made me leery that someone would come and be all "ZOMG SATAN SO BAD" on my lime.
No but I often use certain colours because the HEX code is a number/pattern I like, like #555555 or #C0C0C0.
#666 refers to the Satan...?
So I'm not the only person who thinks about this... I don't avoid using it but I do think about it every time I use it.
I don't go out of my way to avoid using it, as to me it's just a number (1638 to be exact) but I don't have many theme ideas where it would really fit.
Never thought about it. But in my oppinion, avoiding it is a stupidity. If I needed that color, I would use it.
