'Regular' users can already contribute to bug fixes. Just post the fixes to the tracker.

No I didn't, I meant as a branch that would either be merged or removed by a higher authority.

Thats still into the repository dude, even if its another "branch" its still the same repo. We're not doing it. As Tom said, you can still post a "suggested" fix in the bug report on the tracker, as many people have done all along.

That'd be an extra load that they wouldn't want to add i guess. SVN +LAMP + Git ? (not sure the specs but that'd be pretty high me thinks)
