I downloade 1.6.1 and wanted to upgrade my 1.6
I uploaded all the files
I tried to run the upgrade and I get this:
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

The database is good. I installed a test 1.6.1 and did a merge from the old database and it worked.
I would like to keep my first path and not change it.
Anything to look for?
Yes I did the CHMODs
Try reuploading just the ./install/ folder again.

Is there anything in your server error log?? It's saying there's no output from the files but there is...
I dont see anything but Im not 100% what I am looking for.

Ok I placed a LOCK file in the install folder.
When I try to go to the old site I now get:
MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.
SQL Error:
1045 - Access denied for user 'jeffs'@'boscgi0302.eigbox.net' (using password: YES)
Query:
[READ] Unable to connect to MySQL server
What file do I edit maybe to re set access?
config.php seems to be fine.

Yes i had the LOCK file removed trying to figure out what is going on.

If it's saying that, it can't connect to MySQL with the details it's been give, so they're incorrect.

I rechecked and the details are exactly like the new one is except the data base name.
This stopped working when I tried to run the upgrade. I also recall it first told me it could not run untill I removed the LOCK and I did so here I am.
What do you mean 'new one'...?? If the database name is different, it'll be that... the upgrader doesn't edit your database details, so something's changed somewhere here.
