You can access the calendar and not the index, is that what you just said?
Either way make sure all the files are in the right place and the config file has your database settings.

You need more experience first.
As I said, try re-upload a fresh copy of index.php from a new mybb download package.

that backupf folder is a backup of the same forum, if i open that forum i can access my site but mesed up template.
while main forum which is /forum works well except that i cant go to the index of the site. but i can browse other urls , e.g

That's extremely odd. Are you running any plugins that affect the index page or anything?

I don't see anything there to cause an issue then. I've never seen this kind of error before (especially when all other pages work). Maybe one of the support team will have a better idea, but I'm stumped.
Yea very weird everything works i can even post etc. and log in using the right url... but if i go back home which is the index.php it gives me " Error: You need to run the install.php file" portal works too
i can even log to my coopermine gallery which is bridge to mybb /coopermine
