Wait, what? You mean you aren't allowed to use your own router in your own home? That's ridiculous. Modems I can see (they're usually decent from my experience), but router? I might kill myself if I had to put up with that BS.

I don't know any company that doesn't let you use your own router. But, some are now packaging the wireless in with the modem so it would seem like a waste .
Personally I would never have my ISP set up my network.

My Netgear modem was a wireless router also, I couldn't disable the router function and even if I could it didn't matter because I would constantly lose connection.
