Hi guys I am going to be adding some Meta Tags to the templates soon, someone was kind enough to tell me how to add them, I have the Google SEO plugin already installed so that is sorted out.
The question I have is based on the Meta Tags/Keywords should I simply use the subject names, or would it be a better idea to use my Market Samurai tool. I could then use the subject names and possibly locate lower related competition Keywords, which are worth targeting something like that.

I think perhaps there is some confusion, I need to know what keywords to use within the plugin, e.g should I add the names to my subjects, or should I put some time into locating some.
I coded such plugin last night (which may allow you to add separate meta description for each thread), when I was checking some of its codes the voltage suddenly goes down and my computer shutdown. When I login again the plugin completely truncated
It was almost 400 lines of codes which all vanished because of that incident.

Oh god, that is not good at all, let me know if you get it back. You could use the system restore.
Google apparently doesn't even look at the keywords now. Meta tags are useless, apart from the description.
Anxiety is right, Google doesn't really care much about meta tags (except for the description which is used in the description in search results). Other search engines, however, might use them in their algorithm. In my opinion, I think you should still use them because there's simply no reason not to.
As for what to use in the keywords and the description, I recommend you keep it short. Don't fill in the keywords tag with hundreds of of keywords, Google will notice that and probably penalize you somehow. Use simple, important and rich keywords. If your site is about cars, then you should consider adding "cars", "races", "tracks" and such. But not "viagra" or "porn" which are highly targeted search terms.

Thanks for replying guys, I have heard a lot of people saying that the keywords no longer matter, however most of the very same people still use them, is there anything to support that Google are not accounting 100% for them any longer.
I have just added the description and keywords within the index template, you can see it below let me know if that is correctly placed. I took the advice of some kind member on here yesterday...
lang.no_new_posts = "Forum Contains No New Posts";
lang.click_mark_read = "Click to mark this forum as read";
// -->
</script>
<meta name="description" content="we cover everything interesting such from SEO to money monetizing " />
<meta name="keywords" content="webmaster,gaming,seo,gadgets,money monetizing,graphics,computing,fashion,coding,computer protection" />
</head>
<body>
<!-- start: header -->
<div id="container">
How many keywords is the correct amount, would 20 be to many etc...
