MyBB Community Forums

I have been looking around and it seems like you have have a website using mybb. e.g having different tabs like a website here is a example link
http://mybbsource.com/portal.php

Has you can see the site is not just a forum. Is this a plugin or can you turn it on in mybb ? I have mybb installed but am only getting the forum option.

How would i do this in mybb is there something i missing ? because when i installed mybb there was just a forum.... no out side of it

Portal is a default feature for your MyBB. You can access it in: http://yourdomain.com/portal.php

Is there any moredefault feature for your MyBB ? E.g i can see there are other pages on there website ? Is there any way to set this portal page has the default ?
At the moment my forum is in a folder /forum/
But if i could set the portal page has default i would make it in the root.

My questions are
1. would it be hard to move the forum from the folder of forum to the root ?
2. Is there any themes out here free ones which have the portal page has default instead of forum.

You can redirect your users to portal, once they arrive each day using this: http://mods.mybb.com/view/portal-redirect-for-1-6

So still does not set portal has default indexed page ?
So if a user comes to the website they see the poral page 1ce then after that gets redirect to the forum ?
I have also seen in the link ive shown that on the portal page the admin is posting updates ?

mine shows nothing......

ACP > Configurations > Portal > and add the forum ID to pull announcements from. All the latest threads posted on that forum(s) will be listed on your portal page. And yes, users will see the portalpage once they arrive your forum.

Thanks last thing i wanna ask is is there a badge script ?
Because i was gonna start competitions on the forum. And wanted tog ive users badges for winning etc.
I know there is a paid one out there. and a free one suds medals i think the free ones called but does not work for me.
Do you know any more ?
The forum is a hobby website so try and not spend much on it
