  Getting sql error
Posted by: vijayvishwakarma - 2010-08-12, 09:38 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (5)

Hi,

I am getting this error on my forum after updating it to 1.6, not sure how to fix this. Please advice.

Your copy of MyBB running on FAQ (http://www.faqssite.com) has experienced an error. Details of the error include:
---
Type: 20
File: (Line no. 0)
Message
SQL Error: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')
ORDER BY p.dateline' at line 3
Query:
                       SELECT subject, message
                       FROM mybb_posts p
                       WHERE pid IN()
                       ORDER BY p.dateline

Quick Reply & Quotes showing up blank
Posted by: Jon Fu - 2010-08-12, 08:40 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (11)

Wow, guess I am starting to sound like the village idiot with all these questions...

Anyhow, I seem to have a problem with how the forum quotes posts. In short, it doesn't seem to quote anything at all. It just turns out blank within the post box. I've tried reverting my templates but that doesn't seem to solve my problems, unless of course I've been doing that wrong as well.

One other quirk I noticed. Whenever a guest marks the forums as read, everything still appears as if the forum still has unread posts. Not sure if that's related or not, but it's worth a shot.

So thanks again for your help. I could not appreciate this forum enough.

Here are the test accounts:

Username: Admin
Password: IRRUWEOB
Website: http://insideuniversal.net/Community/

One last note, despite the username, that account has no administrative privileges at all. It was originally created as a placeholder.

Thanks again for looking. I hope it's yet another simple issue I overlooked while searching.

Jon

  Board Offline
Posted by: MKM - 2010-08-12, 04:21 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (1)

So I just bought a domain and setup MyBB, and until I finish constructing my forum I want to keep it closed. Do you think using the "board offline" feature is better than using my own "being constructed" page?
