Why are you upgrading from 1.4.13?
Posted by: Monaco - 2010-08-07, 01:29 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (12)

Aside from the benefit of some new features, it seems to me like upgrading will cause great problems with incompatible plugins, and it's just a lot of work. I'm thinking about doing it but am afraid to take a bite into a can of works, to mangle metaphors. I as curious to hear other's reasons for upgrading.

Great work team Big Grin

  SQL Error when adding forum

I get this when I try to create a new forum on my website (As in a new Forum under a Category).

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

  Database difference Install <> Upgrade
Posted by: querschlaeger - 2010-08-07, 12:51 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (2)

Hi,

I upgraded my board from 1.4.14 to 1.6 but I also installed a fresh copy of MyBB 1.6 in a different folder (same MySQL server, same Web server, same PHP version).

Because I'm a little bit paranoid ( Big Grin ) I compared the database structure of both installations and I found differences:

Table adminoptions

On fresh installation:

`uid` int(11) NOT NULL default '0'

On upgraded installation:
`uid` int(10) NOT NULL default '0'

Table delayedmoderation

On fresh installation:
`delaydateline` bigint(30) NOT NULL default '0'

On upgraded installation:
`delaydateline` bigint(30) unsigned NOT NULL default '0'

I just want to let you know these facts...

  Templates don't save
Posted by: Riad C. - 2010-08-06, 10:50 PM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (7)

I'm trying to update my templates, every time I press save, I then go de-activate a plug in and activate, check back, the templates not saved... I'm trying to configure my tabbed menu.

I just got it working after 3 times, but still a small problem.

Photo Am I doing it right?
Posted by: Riad C. - 2010-08-06, 10:15 PM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (2)

Am I doing this right?

"Upload ALL of the files and folders in the "Upload" folder including the install folder, overwriting the existing copies (this contains the upgrade files also) to your forums root directory."

So I went into public_html, then uploaded all the content of mybb1.6 "Upload" folder onto all my other files thus overwriting, yet wouldn't this delete all my images, plug ins etc?

Pre-Parse Signature Plugin is still needed?
Posted by: aglioeolio - 2010-08-06, 07:06 PM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (3)

Hello.

About "Pre-Parse Signature Plugin" to Mybb 1.4x

I don´t know if anyone still remember this plugin to mybb 1.4x but I used to keep it installed in my forum because of a bottleneck in signatures with perfomance without it.

Tikitiki (Ryan Gordon) develepoded it and shared once and I like this tweak so much that I needed to ask if this is still needed in 1.6 series

Thanks for the amazing Forum software Big Grin
