referred stopforumspam is an internal feature of MyBB 1.8 and no plugin is used

admin panel >> configuration >> settings >> Stop Forum Spam (10 settings)

if you are using the plugin for stopfourmspam then you can remove it.

At least try to check some things before posting, please... Thanks in advance.

1. Who is "mybb"? Just in case you didn't notice, different people create different plugins and MyBB staff (if you meant us by "mybb") has logically no control over updating all custom plugins in the world.
2. Why would you use a plugin which is an in-built feature of MyBB 1.8.1?

3. 1.8 compatible plugins are in the new mods section: http://community.mybb.com/mods.php

- you'll find this result a few times, and tons of similar tutorials, if you use the integrated search system for this community.

- And asking myBB's developers to update 3th part plugins, is like asking microsofts developers to update filezilla.
OBS! For helping, see my forum information here:

Version: 1.8.3

Sorry guys, but it is confusing because you have old plugins up there suggesting that it is still needed, it's a mess on the net, as a new user I have to surf through all this rubbish from 2012 that doesn't work.

So you can't really blame me, you say you have no control over custom plugins but you do have control over standard ones.

http://mods.mybb.com/view/stopforumspam-com-for-mybb when you find things like this it doesn't say it's integrated into the newest version... there's tons of incompatible stuff it's like ghost town, my first impression was that mybb is dead, that the developers must not care but now after looking with my magnifying glass I can see redirect link to newer site. Do everybody a favour and just delete that because It's so confusing, I search around for hours to find what I'm looking for which is up to date plugins that are compatible with the latest version.

I would be happy to pay a subscription to get access to legitimate mybb developer plugins rather than waste time looking for 3rd party plugins which are for the wrong version or have no support. Mybb is a good platform, please don't die on me! offer bounties to developers and have a stronger policy on plugins and themes too and send the junk to space.

Because they indeed are still needed for 1.6... Why do you think that we'll remove the old page with plugins while 1.6 is still supported? Won't happen.

There are/were no standard plugins except Akismet (removed in 1.8) and Hello World example for developers.

You're correct here, the big yellow notice needs to be updated with the new modification page link. I'll raise it internally.
