it is an excellent plug-in that you offer us!
a very good complement to myalertes ! I have found only one small bug:

when I mention this way @username no problem , I receive the notification.

but if I use semi automatic input http://community.mybb.com/thread-173199.html
like this @"username"  I do not receive notification...

I hope there is a solution to this problem it would be great!
Besides this it's perfect, just a suggestion it would be a good idea to add other alerts such as moderation alerts etc...

Portal is fixed now but plugin still doesn't seem to work do we need myalerts to be enabled for the notifications?

Doesn't seem to work? Are there any errors? Is it activated? Because no, UA Messages has nothing to do with MyAlerts. If it still doesn't work, check your console, maybe there is a Javascript error! Let me know if there are any errors with the files 'init.js' or 'messages.js'. (F12 -> Console)

My suggestion is to have members select which notifications they want.

quote (") in username with space required in DVZ Mentions. As i made my plugin compatible with DVZ Mentions, so quote is required.

yes I used MentionMe and uses too @"username" and foctionne well with your plugin

Next week we'll release the updated UA Messages. There are lots of new features, actually it's a surprise but we can tell you 2 features of the next release: there will be a 'sound notification' and a special 'pop-up' to change multiple things. More information is following later

check your headerinclude template for proper script order and jquery libs. MyBB jquery lib must be declared before any scripts.
Maybe jQuery conflict.

On http://devnl.nl/, it seems to only work if I am currently browsing the page. For example, I need to be browsing a thread to be able to receive notifications related to that thread.

Is there any way to receive notifications without needing the page to be currently loaded or even without having my browser window open (i.e. background notifications)?

This works perfectly, but you receive a faster notification when you reload a page. When you won't reload a page you have to wait 5 - 15 seconds more, but I think that doesn't matter that much? We'll try to check this but we have a lots of work to do at the moment. I run with Jasper lots of projects and we have to end everything in a short period.

Your forum (browser) has to be open, since the notifications come from your browser. We will not change this since it's possible you don't open your forum because you don't want to receive notifications. Anyway, the notifications come trough Google Chrome / Firefox / .. so I think it's not possible to receive notifications when your browser is closed.

http://devnl.nl is a kind of demo forum, but also our forum where we learn developers to improve their skills (in Dutch). All the forums that we make we first of all test there and when we re-check everything and won't find any bugs we release it on MyBB. We didn't start yet with the updates, since we have other projects to work on.
