no , other is not supported at the moment, it is as simple as eating candy,
from admin add options.
in user post section, click in report link, which popup appears having dropdown having these options. just select one rather than writing.

and thats it. there you go.

the other option is a bit tricky and time consuming. it is nothing but have to play with javascript. the script looks, if other is selected, then show a dropdown and then play with it.

i dont have enough time now a days, how ever i am going to release this simple plugin in this week. i made it for one of my client. now i have to change some config options because you know open source ...

any one of you can change it.
With Regards and many thanks.

It is also worth noting though that because this is only a change to the HTML and not to how the input it received as well, it is still possible for users to send custom reasons.

Thats what I tried to do on my own, but only the textbox version works.

You might need template conditionals plugin and use if else for textbox and dropdown based reports. That might work, not sure though.

I'm working on my own version of this. Selecting predefined report reasons is done. I'm just finishing up allowing both dropdown reasons and custom reasons, if the admin enabled it in the settings. Simply leaving the input field there indeed does not work. You have to rename either one of them and add the field to the database when submitting the report.

In a future version I will consider adding Kevinex's suggestion, it makes a lot of sense. Maybe when 1.8 is released and jQuery is available to us. I can't bother working with Prototype, the documentation sucks. But I might just do it anyway.

i will upload it soon.
I didn't think it was worth making a plugin for, but cheers anyways.

Thanks for this tutorial. I have used it a couple of times before and referred to my friends as well. This is a very useful plus well-detailed tutorial. It's better than the long text report this saves time, looks clean and easy to understand the reported post/thread.
