I have 2 questions

first: how to get threads go to the portal page
second: how to make of my portal the home page

admin panel >> configuration >> settings >> Portal Settings >> Show Latest Discussions >> select yes
and put required number at Number of latest discussions to show (eg. 10 or 15 or 25)

simple method to show portal as home page is to use rewrite rule in .htaccess
DirectoryIndex portal.php index.php
