cant post any new threads on a brand new forum

launched my second forum today but struggling with posting new threads, cant get any new threads up and running as admin or a user

Could you clarify how you can't? Error page? Blank page? Can we have a test account?

admin panel >> configuration >> settings >> Server and Optimization Options -->
Enable search engine friendly URLs? <-- select disabled and save the settings

edit : have you added .htaccess file for the Google SEO plugin ?
if not rename htaccess.txt at the forum's root folder as .htaccess and check

have fixed it, it was all in the htaccess
