Need help with installing plugins on MyBB.

I've had my MyBB website up for a little over a month now, and it seems to be working fine. I'm really pleased with how it functions. I haven't run into any problems at all with the exception that I can't seem to install plugins through my cPanel that will work properly. I installed MyBB through Softaculous. Specifically, I'm trying to install the "Thank You Like" and "Google SEO" plugins and I keep encountering error messages like this for the "Like" plugin:

I really don't know enough about PHP or script installation to be able to troubleshoot what I'm doing wrong. In fact, I don't really understand what this error message is telling me. I'm not so concerned abut the "SEO" plugin, but I have users who are asking for the "Like" plugin.

Any offers of help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

First at all you may be sure about your MyBB version and compatibility with plugins.

After that you can use filezilla or some FTP program.

Then you have to upload all files correctly to your FTP and when you install you can't see any kind of troubles.

You can upgrade and put one theme to do more functional and when all it's done you can see if one ore two mods can help to your own purposes, and thats all, if you have errors on installing some mods, plugins or any you have to test which is up to date to make a functional and stable forum board.

You need to upload thankyoulike.php to your forum root, not ./inc/plugins/.

Thanks! I moved the thankyoulike.php file to the forum root. Now, I'm getting this message...

In my attempt to install this plugin, I uploaded the entire plugin folder to "inc/plugins". I extracted its contents using my cPanel extractor tab. However, afterwards the plugin configuration page of the administration area shows I have no plugins after doing this. I got the above message after I moved the thankyoulike.php file to the forum root as you advised.

You need to do the same for tylsearch.php too. If there's a structure in the plugin ZIP (an inc folder, an admin folder, etc) you need to upload it to your forum root. If it's just a single file, you need to upload it to ./inc/plugins/.
