[For 1.6] MySteam Powered v1.2.2
#21
Hmm. That didn't seem to work?
Not a big issue though!

Thanks for getting the plugin working!

The edit works on both my main website and my test fresh MyBB installation. Keep in mind that browsers are quite good about caching CSS styles, so they often won't show changes right away normally. Try hitting Ctrl + F5 on the page and see if it shows up then. Also, make sure you're modifying the CSS file for the theme you're currently using, or modifying it for the MyBB master style (in which case it'll be inherited by all other themes, provided you haven't already edited the CSS files and broken that inheritance).

Yeah I just worked that out haha. Silly me!
Another suggestion:
Would it be possible to make the steam icon int he postbit into a hyperlink to your steam profile?

Yeah, that would be even easier. Kind of surprised I didn't think of it before. I'll also include that in the next version. You're on a roll, keep 'em coming. Toungue

This one may be a little harder but is it possible to have an option to move the non-advanced sidebox at the bottom of the page instead of at the top? Smile

That's actually quite easy, and you can do it pretty easily yourself in the current version. Just go to Admin CP > Templates & Styles > Templates > (your theme's template group) > Index Page Templates > Index

You should have a template editing screen open. Near the beginning you should find {$header}, and next to it, {$mysteamlist}. Cut {$mysteamlist} and paste it wherever you want it to appear. E.g., if you want to put it above the board stats box but below the forum listing, put it between {$forums} and {$boardstats}.

If you use the Portal page, you'll want to do the same thing with Portal Templates > portal.

Btw, I will most likely be globalizing the non-ASB status list in the next version, so you can place that variable in just about any template and it will show up where you put it (currently it'll only show up on the Index and Portal pages). So you will be able to add it to most pages, just like you can currently with the ASB version.

Version 1.1 has been released!

Yeah I know, I just released v1.0.2 yesterday, but I decided to do another coding blitz and implement some new planned features, so now you can get an update that's a bit more substantial. The change log is below (kudos to michaelkr1 for suggesting two of the new features).

Note that this update makes changes to the default CSS file. So if you've modified the plugin's CSS file (mysteam.css), you'll need to revert it back to the master style and re-add your changes if you want to use the new setting that controls the hover behavior on post bit (see below).
  • Globalized the $mysteamlist variable. Now if you are using the non-ASB status list, you can add the Steam status list to any page of your forums by placing "{$mysteamlist}" in any template (with some exceptions, including the header template). By default it still only displays on Index and Portal, and display on those pages can still be enabled/disabled in settings.
  • Added a setting to allow a user's plain text status to be shown at all times if using the image display style on the post bit (as opposed to the default, where the plain text status is only revealed when you hover your mouse over the Steam icon).
  • Made the Steam status icon in the post bit a hyperlink that directs to the current user's steam profile.

As always, you can get the latest version from Github or from the attachment in the first post. Version 1.1 is currently awaiting validation on the MyBB Mods site.

EDIT: My oh my, that was fast. Version 1.1 has already been validated on the MyBB Mods site, so you can go ahead and obtain it there.

Thanks to the work of one of our users, Kiibakun, there is now a Spanish language pack available for MySteam Powered! It is current with v1.1. You can obtain it on the MyBB Mods site here.

Another suggestion (if it's possible)
So I like the idea of being able to restrict it to specific groups so randoms/registered suers don't use it. However, it's there a way that it can be not enabled for a specific group however if I add the info for a specific user via ModCP that it will enable it for them?

For example I don't want it enabled for my Registered group however I have a few people on my forums that are in that group that I would like to have it without adding them to another group.

Hope that makes sense!
