So you have the same issue with the same error message on 1.1 and below? The method changed in 1.2.

Ok. I'm not terribly familiar with server issues, but it looks like a server configuration issue to me. It doesn't appear to be a PHP error, but rather a server error (apache, nginx, etc.). The submit button does involve obtaining a file on another server (Steam's), and obtaining the contents for use by the script. I don't think any of the core User CP functions do that, so that may well be the issue. Perhaps an .htaccess setting is interfering? I'm just shooting in the dark though, since I can't reproduce the issue and the error is beyond my expertise.

Graycat. If the files were uploaded to your server via another account (such as root user) and your account is named something else in Apache/cPanel this can cause conflict.

For the plugin files you uploaded:
Make sure that on the server the files are chown'd (you're the owner) by you.
Make sure the files and folders you have uploaded have 755 permission.

Hey Tanweth,
I'm getting the following error at the top of my page now. Any idea why?
Warning [2] strpos(): Empty needle - Line: 160 - File: inc/plugins/mysteam.php PHP 5.4.25 (Linux)

Hmm. That's a curious one. The error is to do with the comparison check the plugin runs if display of both Steam and forum names is enabled. That error indicates that for a user on your forums, he has a Steam ID associated but no Steam name, or for some reason his forum name wasn't saved to the cache, since it isn't finding one or the other.

I can tell you that you definitely won't see it again if you set the display name to just display forum or Steam name, but obviously the setting for both is supposed to work as well (I use it myself on my site). Do you get this error routinely, or did you only get it once? Are there any anomalies on the status list (missing name, etc.)? If you could check Admin CP > Tools & Maintenance > Cache Manager > mysteam, and then look at the cache to see if you find any users with a blank 'username' or 'steamname', that would help to pinpoint it as well.

I ended up disabling the show username part and just left the show steam name in the settings so I didn't get a chance to catch it in the cache after it reloaded. If it happens again (which since we're a small forum with the same casual users) I will let you know.

Version 1.2.2 is now released!

The main change in this version is that it adds compatibility with Advanced Sidebox v2.1, so you'll want to upgrade to it if you're using the ASB module and upgrade Advanced Sidebox to the latest version (which is highly recommended). Note that it isn't backward-compatible with earlier versions of ASB, so only upgrade to this version AFTER you have upgraded ASB. It also fixes a minor issue with backward slashes appearing in names that have apostrophes.

You can download the update from GitHub or the attachment on the first post. It is currently awaiting validation on the MyBB Mods site.

I also want to apologize for the lack of progress on version 2.0. I've had a lot of personal upheaval in my life recently that has taken my time, but I definitely have not abandoned this project, and I fully expect to complete a major expansion of MySteam Powered's functionality (adding Steam login support and using other Steam API features) when I have the time and focus for it.

Right, I noticed that issue before, but I haven't looked into it yet. It only seems to happen when there are only a small number of users with Steam integrated. This is a good reminder for me to look into it. Let me take a look and see if I can find the cause when I get a chance, and when I do, I will release a patch. Smile
