Version 2.1 is currently under development and has not been yet released. Nonetheless, this error indicates that you are using an outdated version of PHP and you should upgrade to at least PHP 5.4.

Requiring 5.4 is pretty brave, a lot of shared hosts won't have that. You'll be restricting your install base quite dramatically.

Pushing the standards forward can be sometimes painful, but it needs to be done eventually. I would not however over-dramatize about setting 5.4 as the minimum - webhosts which do not have that version available yet do not have good technical support/management either and there is no point in looking behind and waiting for services to be provided consistent with common standards, especially given that 5.6 was released this week. I have seen lots of free hosting servers with 5.5 available, so if you are paying for your hosting and you do not have at least 5.4 available IMO it's time to consider looking for a better offer.

I guess I'm still used to how it was when 5.3 came out and people were stuck on 5.1 or even 4.4... support was fun back then Smile

Installation of PHP 5.5 was successful and solved the problem.

Is there a way to colour the Shoutbox so that it shows like other forum headings rather than using the page background? e.g. like the Quick Reply on this page, white on blue.
