if not can anyone tell me how to make seo friendly urls?

You can try changing the compatibility line in the plugin file from 16* to 18* in this plugin

from the plugin php file found inside the inc/plugins folder in the zip file you download... or simply download the plugin from the above github link...

Did you downloaded from here https://github.com/frostschutz/MyBB-Goog...master.zip, and did you applied the core modification to your functions.php from Home » Plugins

and added your forum url in the .htaccess file
