i plan to change the logo to something else. it will not matter, right?

i've found the logo css in my firefox and changed the bottom margin to 15 and it's fine.
but i don't know which file i need to find for changing it for good..

You found the margin specifications for ul.top_links which defaulted to -10px, 5px, 0, 0
You will want to edit global.css for your theme. Somewhere around line 79 as shown in this screenshot.

   

I changed the -10px to 10px and found it acceptable. Nevertheless, this method (using browser tools to identify elements in the page source plus style code) is the best way to change your page the way you like it.

Page source is mostly determined by templates, styling is mostly determined by css. The browser tools help identify which css code source is being applied.
