MyTabs Alternative?

I need help since I get error 3604 on MyTabs, not letting users register as it says field 'default_tab' doesn't have a default value.

I saw other posts of fixes but it requires you to disable strict mode which might have some risks. I need help on another one, by the way I tried Tabbed Menu but there were no documentation, I messed up my site when using it.
