[How To?] compress attachments images and videos

Is there any plugin to compress attachments images and videos from original size ? So, on backend it will save in low size.

For images, we use @Laird's Image Auto-Resizer.  We don't allow any video type attachments, although they can link.  Either using the embed feature, or just a URL.

Laird's Image Auto-Resizer works well enough for jpeg, where pixel scale is the big issue.  Png - not so well.
