Hidden post showing up in post search

I actually did create myself a test account and tested it in every user group. The post that should be hidden does for sure show up in the "new posts" search, but can't be viewed when you click on it.

I've checked every option I can see and all appears to be set up correctly. This appears to be a glitch? Not sure.

I have confirmed this; if you have set the setting right in the permissions so you cannot see the thread. You can still see the title, post and view count and who last posted if you search for it in Today's Posts. (It is the case in New Posts as well). You can't do anything with it vapart from see those details.

Is this deliberate or a bug?

Based on the fact Polar reproduced the issue (I can't try at the moment), I'll move this to bug reports and see what the devs have to say about it.

There seems to be a lot of information jumbled up in this thread on more then one issue. Can we please have it so that there is only 1 issue per bug report and it is concise and clear?

This came to mind:
canviewthreads error problem. I might be thinking of something else here, but I thought it was changed back so people could see the threads in the forumlist... if that's the case, then surely they should see the posts everywhere else too...

Ok, here's the issue:

I have a forum that's for posting suggestions and complaints. The forum permissions are set for user groups to be able to post in the thread their problem, but not be able to see the post, thus protecting anonymity.

Once the poster posts in the thread, no one can see it except those that should (admin user group). The problem lies in where anyone that views "new posts" or "today's posts" can see the thread information (Poster, Thread title, Last responder) whereas this information should be hidden and private.

For the usergroup, go into "Edit Permissions" or "Set Permissions" when in the forum permissions page. Untick the option, "Can search forum?".

Does it still appear after you do this?
