How do you get a domain for your forum?

You need to buy a domain from a domain registrar.

Some hosts give you a subdomain, or you can get free ones like .co.cc, .co.nr, .tk etc, but for a proper one, you need to buy it.

You have to get hosting for a MyBB Forum.
So you could either search for hosts or you could use something like http://createbb.com

A domain is usually provided by free hosts as a subdomain. If you want a .com or .net domain you have to buy them from a site like http://godaddy.com

Yea if you want a free web host i would not recommend it most of the time they shut down fast and or don't have very many features. The best one i ever found was http://www.000webhost.com/ But yea you will need to but a domain then buy the webhost. Some places let you buy the domain then they will give you the web hosting for free or vice versa. Im am currently using http://felxo.com/ and they are very good i haven't had any down time very helpful staff and the cheapest prices i ever found. I hope i helped

That is a subdomain. Just like if you get username.ooowebhost.com it is NOT a TLD Chibullsnation.co.cc is a subdomain, let me break it down for you...

co.cc is the name of the domain. That domain ends in .cc so what happens is a script makes a SUBDOMAIN just like a hosting script & assigns that to you.

so whatever.co.cc would be a subdomain as would anything that you replace the "whatever" with. Understand?

For example if I create a subdomain for you at lets say chibull.vgchat.info & point that to your hosting account at wherever it is, it would not be called a domain or a free domain..
