I want users to be able to post replies but not topics in my forum. How can I let this happen?

I tried the permissions thing but it won't let users view threads either.

You should be able to do it in your AdminCP --> Forums & Posts --> Your Forum --> Permissions

For the group you want to make it happen with (normal users = registered) Untick the box Can Post Threads and Make sure the box Can Post Replies is ticked. That should make it do what you want it do.

Yes you can definatly set it using the permissions. The above method should work
