When a user clicks on the Reply button for a post/reply, that post/reply is auto-quoted in the new reply. Can I configure myBB not to add quote automatically?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just click New reply button underneath the last post? (Underneath where it says Search Thread)
The reply button in a post means quote I think... EDIT: Sorry didnt see above post Brad!

Yeah as Bey Brad has pointed out the users can use the button at the top and bottom of the thread if they wish not to quote any posts.
The reply button on the post replies to that specific post. Multi-quote is slightly different as well.
Thanks, Polarbear541

(Underneath where it says Search Thread) This is not what I want, clicking on the reply button of a post is the only way to make a reply correctly show up in a threaded mode. Clicking on the New Reply under Search Thread will make a reply paralell to the root topic. Thanks!
To be honest, I found the idea of labeling the "Quote" button as "Reply" a bit misleading. I mean, yes, I understand why -- it's technically to be used when directly replying to a single message -- but there are two buttons labeled "reply" that have two different functions.
edit: oh wow someone still uses threaded mode

Maybe it is a good idea to have a button "Reply" for a post which simply create a reply without quote; another button "Reply+" for a reply with quote.
Comment? Hard thing to do?

Use this as the content of the postbit_quote template:
edit: ^ shows what i know
Considering that threaded is being dropped in 1.6 or 2.0, I don't see anyone going out of their way to accommodate this. Threaded is dead. |
