Hi, I am planning on creating my own forum. However, I am unable to choose which web host I should choose. I prefer to host using a free one until I have at least a hundred members before I move to a paid host. But, I can pay a little if the web host is worth it. However, I would like to pay once a year, instead of every month.

From doing some research about free web hosts and reading their reviews, it doesn't seem like they are very good. I have checked this info:

I have heard that freehostia and x10hosting are terrible.

Anyway, to summarize, could someone recommend me a free web host that is decent and is able to support up to 100 members? Also, could someone recommend me a paid web host that is cheap and reliable?

(I have heard good ratings for godaddy, but I am not very familiar with web hosts. Could someone tell me about this place?

Thanks!

That does not help at all... Did you not read my post?
Thanks for replying, though.

x10hosting is okay.

That's the only free host I've ever dealt with that's still around.
Paid: http://bluehost.com

Okay, thanks! I will try this one out and will hope for the best.

In case I decide to transfer to a paid host, like gobaby, would x10host give me any trouble? Like a fee, or some sort?

Oh and, is bluehost better than gobaby?
I would say if possible, get a paid host now. It is a lot easier then dealing with free hosts, transferring everything, etc.

And yes, I would say bluehost is better & easier then godaddy (gobaby?).
Thanks! I'll look into bluehost. I am a total beginner when it comes to forum and web hosts, and I was wondering if there are any hidden fees or things I should be careful of.

Is it simply just buying the web host for 6 dollars a month at bluehost, and follow the mybb directions to setup the forum? What do I do after; do I have to do maintenance every so often, or can I leave it alone for extensive period of time without having any errors and such?
You will have to upload the mybb files using an ftp client or if bluehost has it, a built in file manager. It's not to hard. Then you need to create a database, which isn't hard.

You can then install mybb. Once it is installed, all you really need to the admin CP. You will be able to let it go along time without having errors, but it is always best to upgrade when MyBB has a new version. The wiki page about upgrading can help you when that time comes. Smile.
Thanks! [EDIT]

I have decided to just go with bluehost. The free web hosts, like you guys have said, doesn't seem like they are worth the trouble.

And are there any troubles with mybb and bluehost if I want to have adsense?

Did any users experience problems using bluehost?

There is no problems. You can use ads as you wish.
And never choose Godaddy. Its good for domains, but not for hosting.
