One last question, as in another thread you mentioned they can help with DDOS mitigation. How easier/how does it cut down on work. As IIRC the only real way it top adjust the firewall accordingly.

Litespeed servers automatically gzip static files, and is also compatible with Apache rewrites. Perhaps that might be an option for you.
