I too had issue Pavemen, but I forgot what solution I implemented. I'll look it tonight if possible.

I have not detected any messy behaviour with Chrome or Firefox.
I got it figured out. original css had an error buried 1/2 way up. opera and firefox could not get around it, but chrome ignored it. i fixed that and its working now
AH, glad you got it sorted pavemen. Is it a problem in my CSS code or something you added? (so I can update the Op if needed).
it was the modified global.css that I was working with on the client site that had the error (some corrupted content)
