Tabs are a no go, I don't like them ever and I think hardly anyone does.
Except to split up pages properly it would be useful, but they just don't work well with MyBB.
Besides that you might want to merge a lot of forums and I would advice you to use subforums to make it look tidier.
For the rest the theme is good and fits the niche.
What sections would you suggest merging?

I would say make the webmaster section one forum or delete it. The marketplace could also be one forum. Same with exchange. Only one forum is needed for the exchange. That gets rid of three tabs there. They are not needed.
Ok, I've taken onboard your comments and have merged about 5 forums together,

If you stay on track the amount of tabs and forums is fine in my opinion.
Though right now, you could get rid of a select few such as the Webmaster Resources board.
Even the Exchange category could be condensed into one board.
Ok what should I merge into what?
