Please refer to Nathon Malcolm's solution instead of mine. Mine will make a conflict if YOU CHANGE theme or etc etc.
So please use Nathan's solution its easy to follow 
Well I think reuploading the jscripts and installing a new theme should do the job because the theme the OP is currently using is from vBulletin. A new theme shouldn't cause any issue(s) with reading files as it would be compatible for MyBB.

right i dont know what makes you think the theme came from vbulletin as i`ve never said that because i got the theme from mybb downloads

You must probably wait for like 15-20 min after you do my procedure or CLEAR your CACHE & try again.

screw this i`m off to phbb3 just converted and guess what, no problems at all so it just goes to show its this shitty software thats the problem
I did it many many times but, after the first change inside ACP it stops to work. Is someone able to find a workaround?

i just installed again and it worked so can't really help m8 sorry, but dont seem like any1 can fix this and mybb say its not a bug so don't know m8
