The current post editor is so outdated and hard to use. To be honest, it's really hard to customize my post. My suggestion for this part is using CKEditor (http://ckeditor.com/) one of the best editor and most advanced one but easy to use.

this not made any sense.
Sceditor is outdated ? Since when?

Ckeditor isn't best editor. Has several bugs and bugs too. And the biggest problem is size file is very big.

Redactor is paid. And has other issue. Not has source mode.

Change to WysiBB not made any sense. Need several change to made work with mybb, Including core edit.

I think CKEditor (http://ckeditor.com/) is the best editor. As for the size, they offered 3 packages. You choose!
Don't worry guys, it is us the ones picking the default editor. Smile

for me this isn't good idea...
will break all post made by mybb 1.8

Obviously we're not going to break existing posts. I would have thought that to be obvious. We are using the same parse format as 1.x in 2.0, but we are also adding to it and enhancing it. We can easily modify other editors with plugins to match our particular flavour of BBCode markup (which is much easier than writing an editor from scratch or continuously patching a buggy editor). We also want an editor that has good mobile support - something that SCEditor does not have (or at least, it isn't at all fluid on a modern iPad Mini or iPhone 5s - both of which are quite powerful and common devices).

so ok...
but plugin system of WysiBB is very bad and limited... you will need core edit in WysiBB to work correct with mybb

i never will use ckeditor...
for me has more bugs and more complicated to customized (add butom etc...)
Which is why wysiBB has been decided against. That and there are several other bugs we have found during testing (including an XSS issue).

i not know about XSS issue...
But wysiBB not has breakBeforeBlock, breakStartBlock, breakEndBlock etc... In ckeditor is breakBeforeOpen, breakAfterOpen etc...
So not has possible to match with parse of mybb if not made core edit in wysiBB.
Question:
How are you going to make custom MyCode work on CKE?
How are you going to make CKE's buttons to work when in source code mode?
Not sure yet on either of those. Currently we're focused on larger aspects of the system and will cross those hurdles when we hit them.
I think you are doing it wrong.
Before you decide on what to use, you should test it and see what exists first.
Anyhow, if you successfully do it, I'll look up on you. Making CKE work with BBCode and making CKE work with custom BBCode is a very daunting task.
As said in this thread: it hasn't been fully decided what will be used. Ckeditor is the preferred solution atm but if we notice that it's not possible to implement we'll surely use something else. MyBB 2.0 is a complete rewrite so we can do whatever we want Wink
OK, got it.
