why do i get this error when i want to install the Ajax chat ?

when i click on the chat Icon , in the newly opened window , i see the error :

This plugin requires a working installation of AjaxChat (v0.8.3 - MyBB-Version).

Nice plug-in - but how do I prevent guests/banned users etc from seeing Ajax chat window or shoutbox?
I want only current registered users to see it.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
