Have you optimized Apache at all?

i have the same issue when there is spike in traffic crashes my whole server thinking about dumping Apache all together and install light speed and see if that helps or pay for and CDN

I believe my mybb installation can take down every server easily... ....

Are you using prefork or worker?

If you haven't already, comment out uneeded modules. It can save quite a bit of memory.

I don't have problem with memory.

Mysql eats the whole cpu...

for me my specs areGenerated in 0.0837121 seconds (72.55% PHP / 27.45% MySQL)
SQL Queries: 53 / Global Parsing Time: 0.0387900 / Memory Usage: 9 MB
PHP version: 5.3.6 / Server Load: 1.21 / GZip Compression: Enable and it still crashes on heavy traffic days

^Is that the index page stat?


On my new dedi, the server load is now 4+. LOL!

this just keeps happening i look at my error logs and i dont understand my Apache keeps crashing and i have to reboot the whole server happens everytime its a rush in traffic to my site

How big is your site and what type of hosting do you use? Vps or dedi + specs?

I think you have a different problem than me.
