Guessing you didn't upload the images folder properly, which theme are you trying to use?
Also go admin CP and create new theme name it anything then set it as default and all users. Follow this! https://community.mybb.com/thread-112862.html

make sure that below folders are writable [CHMOD 777]
~/cache ~/cache/themes ~/cache/themes/[all sub-folders] login to forum admin panel & navigate to themes section (left column menu has its link) then click on default theme and then click on global.css then click on advanced mode (tab) and click on save stylesheet button without doing any changes in the code visit your forum index page & hard refresh your browser (eg. press CTRL + F5) check if the style issue resolves

If you are using FileZilla, you can right click on a file or directory and click file permissions to modify the permissions of that file or directory.
Thats how you chmod^^

Look at Configuration -> Site Details -> Board URL
Set your board url corectly i have same problem with my testing board
