One thing I would suggest adding is a check of the CHMOD of ./cache/themes/ - necessary to debug why a theme is 'missing'.

Sure go add it..let's keep updating this and reposting it here as an attachment. Maybe everyone working together can make this a must have tool for diagnostics.

I get a
500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

and the scrip is in the MyBB folder

useing windows server IIS 7 i set up a test site on my laptop which is running Windows 7 with IIS 7.5 it works there if i go http://localhost/Forum/diagnostics.php (test site)
http://www.howman.dyndns.info/MyBB/diagnostics.php (sitte running on the internet)
now the test site says all dir are what they should be

Can you PM me login details to see why it doesn't work? Also does your Mybb work properly?

Mattr from the LearnMybb said that my mysql migh not be seting defults right "Hmm, if I were you, I'd email your host. It seems MySQL isn't setting default values for things."

but i about 2 hours or after dinner which ever comes first i guess i will for mat and go to IIs 7.5
