I am trying to do a new installation of Mybb I have never used this software before but when i go into the install file i am getting this parse error Quote:Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home2/vladd/public_html/forum/inc/class_core.php on line 18
line 18 of the file is Quote:public $version = "1.6.0";
is there anyway to get rid of the error?

I get this message when assigning moderators on both my forums now
MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.
SQL Error:
1054 - Unknown column 'm.uid' in 'field list'
Query:
SELECT m.mid, m.uid, u.username FROM mybb_moderators m LEFT JOIN mybb_users u ON (m.uid=u.uid) WHERE fid='29
