Right now I'm trying to upgrade 1.4 to 1.6. I'm stuck at the part where I have to overwrite the old files/folders to the new files/folders. I'm using the file manager on cPanel to do this. When I move all the files from the Upload folder to the forum directory, it doesn't overwrite. So how do I overwrite the files?

Hi... well I am in the process of deleting everything since the upgrade appeared to work fine but did not.
My site has a lot of videos.. and not one of them worked. I did not get the postbit as here and only one of my plugins worked. Now I will have a mess LOL... since I will have to find all those plugins when I use my backupdb and uninstall all of them. Actually I guess a clean board is fine.
I also have a copy of my actual forum and would like to use it but don't know if it will work. Therefore I will have lost everything?

Will it be easier or harder to make plugins in 1.6?

how did you solve the problem as I am having the exact same issue.


EDIT: just noticed my error is slightly differnt.

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1054 - Unknown column 'remember' in 'field list'
Query:
SELECT uid,username,password,salt,loginkey,remember,passwordconvert,passwordconverttype FROM mybb_users WHERE username='pob13' LIMIT 1

On my forum the "post rep" button was not added. I am wondering if anyone is having a similar problem?

Can I get a list of all the new and changed files please?

If i do a backup via acp.
acp>tools and maintenance> backup> and then make a backup of all the tables and save it to my desktop will that work if something goes wrong?
